Vacancy: Vacancies at Dorset Community Action
Job description:
FUNDING ADVISER
37 hours, £24,000 to £26,000 depending on experience, plus 6% pension contribution based in Dorchester but travelling across the county.
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our third sector team.
You will provide advice and information to Dorset’s Voluntary and Community Organisations, organise advice surgeries and training and contribute to publications and on-line resources.
You will have voluntary sector knowledge and experience and in successful fundraising from grants and trusts plus excellent communication, networking and partnership skills.
GRANTS AND OFFICE MANAGER
35 hours, £24000 based in Bournemouth for The Community Foundation for Bournemouth Dorset and Poole.
DEVELOPMENT WORKER
26 hours, up to £23,340 (pro rata), plus 6% pension contribution, based in Wimborne.
Do you have the skills, abilities and enthusiasm to work alongside communities and voluntary groups in East Dorset, helping them identify needs, develop projects and providing advice? Also supporting communities undertaking parish/neighbourhood plans. Experience of community development and capacity building of small groups and voluntary groups is highly desirable.
CONSORTIUM DEVELOPMENT WORKER
15 hours, up to £25,000 (pro rata), plus 6% pension contribution, based in Wimborne.
Working within a partnership that exists to ensure that all Dorset groups have access to support and development services. Employed by DCA you will be directed, and supported, by Dorset’s 3rd Sector Infrastructure Group.
For the right candidate the Development Worker and Consortium Development Worker could be combined into a single full time post.

Job description: The Nationwide Foundation
The Nationwide Foundation is an award winning, grant making charity which supports people in need and was established by Nationwide Building Society in 1997. It currently has vacancies for a new Chair and a small number of Trustees.
The Chair will have senior level experience within large corporates or the third sector, plus an understanding of both areas. High quality chairing skills and a commercial understanding of the value of Corporate Responsibility in the context of brand and business strategy is crucial.
Both Trustees and the Chair will bring commitment, a clear strategic vision and good knowledge of UK housing or financial exclusion issues. Trustees will also have experience of influencing government policy, an understanding of corporate responsibility and experience of frontline service delivery

Job Description: We need committed individuals to provide a ‘teller’ facility at our collection points in the BANES area. Service point volunteers work in pairs and collect money from members to repay their loans or add to their savings. All money collected is recorded in a simple form which is passed back to the office, along with the money collected for processing.
