The Annual Review looks back to the key achievements in 2006-07 and the Corporate Plan looks forward to priorities over the next 3 years, and how GoSW intends to respond to them.
GOSW has undergone significant changes over the past 12 months, and our organisation chart sets out our new structure by policy and place. Most of you will be aware that Bronwyn Hill has now left GOSW, and Richard Sheard has been appointed Acting Regional Director.
The Corporate Plan is structured around three strategic objectives: improving regional strategies, a strong focus on working with place, and working with Whitehall. GoSW is uniquely well-placed to negotiate, challenge and deliver well-integrated regional strategies, which make a real difference to the region. In Local Area Agreements, they have a critical role in ensuring they deliver good outcomes for Whitehall, and for local people. And, they strengthen national priorities by ensuring that regional and local knowledge feeds into policy development and delivery.
Some of the priorities in this Plan will change or evolve as they work through both the implications of Constitutional Reform as well as the recently published Government’s sub-national review for the region. For updates on GoSW's work in the region go to the website.
