Many thanks for your continued support to the Farming Futures project. We've been working hard in the past few months to provide more useful resources to inspire and inform farmers and land managers to take action on adapting to and mitigating climate change.
Some recent Farming Futures successes:
- Launch of our new and improved website www.farmingfutures.org.uk.
- Launch of our video case studies (you might see some familiar faces!) http://www.farmingfutures.co.uk/x507.xml.
- In June, our first two on-farm workshops took place at Sheep drove Farm in Berkshire and at the Fenton Centre in Northumberland. We think the following feedback sums up the success of the workshops - "I cannot recall giving such a good set of marks ever. Please congratulate all!". You can read more feedback and sign up for workshops: http://www.farmingfutures.co.uk/x556.xml.
- New fact sheets on: anaerobic digestion, biomass, water management, soil management: http://www.farmingfutures.co.uk/x360.xml - please download and use as you wish.
- Coming soon: new fact sheets on: nutrient management, smart technology, how to measure your carbon footprint and energy efficiency.
Staff news:
After almost two fantastic years running Farming Futures, I'm sadly leaving the project, as is my colleague Maya Herbolzheimer. We are handing it over to the very capable and experienced hands of our colleagues Claire Skinner and Claire Wyatt here at Forum for the Future. They will keep you informed on Farming Futures activities until the project funding ends in March 2009.
From mid-August, please contact Claire and Claire on either the Farming Futures mobile: 07825 204434 or by email: c.skinner@forumforthefuture.org.uk or c.wyatt@forumforthefuture.org.uk or through our website: www.farmingfutures.org.uk.
