As part of an ongoing dialogue with the Government Office for the South West (GOSW), about the need to embed equality and diversity (E&D) in Local Area Agreements (LAAs), Equality South West is undertaking a piece of work to determine the extent to which effective consultation has taken place around E&D, in developing LAAs across the South West. Please read the LSP, LAA & SCS Briefing Document which explains what an LAA, Local Strategic Partnership and Sustainable Community Strategy is.
This link will take you to a questionnaire specifically designed for Regional Equality Networks, their constituent organisations and local E&D organisations & forums. The questionnaire should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The aim of the questionnaire is to identify the extent to which equalities groups have been involved in the development of the latest round of LAAs. The questionnaire will also help determine the extent to which opportunities to address E&D have been identified and taken. Please feel free to forward this on to any other organisations/ individuals you feel could input.
An additional two questionnaires will be issued. The first will to go out to the Coordinators of your LAA and the second will go to the Equality Representative on your LSP.
It is important to stress that the outcomes of this piece of work will not influence the 2008 LAAs which are awaiting sign off by GOSW, but will be fed into an improvement plan to be used in the development of future LAA work.
I would be very grateful if you could complete the attached questionnaire and submit as directed on the form by Monday 17th March 2008.
If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Thank you in advance of your support.
